OVERVIEW
The Master’s degree in Professional Media Creation (M.A.) is a project-related, artistic degree. During the course, an elaborate project is implemented using professional methods and brought to the public. It is an artistic project from one of the following areas: music, film, video, installation and media art, sound art, visual art, photography, game art or a comparable art discipline.
After the successful publication of the project, the modular course of study ends with the academic degree “Master of Arts”, which is awarded by the Folkwang University.
In addition to artistic support, the curriculum includes specialized modules for deepening narrative and communication skills as well as management, law and marketing. In a compulsory elective module, additional technical subjects with subject-specific focus in the areas of audio, video, multimedia and light as well as artistically shaped subjects in perception psychology, design, application of real-time systems and media history are offered. While the compulsory modules are attended at the SAE Institute in Bochum, the events from the compulsory elective module can be attended at all SAE institutes in Germany and at the Folkwang University of the Arts.
All contents of the MA PMC lead to the successful, public performance of the project, through which the student proves that he can market and present himself professionally.
